"Local Food for Local People: Healthy Food for Healthy People"
The Bathurst Wholefood Cooperative was established in November 2011 in response to requests from the public to be able to purchase local and organic foods more regularly than the monthly farmers’ markets and to provide a market for produce generated by the local farming community. The shop front was opened in Bathurst in January 2012.
As a food cooperative the BWC is owned and operated by its members. It is a not-for-profit organisation. Any surplus that is made from its operations are used to provide better and more affordable products and expand operations.
